They are awfully partial to parades in Sri Lanka. In this regard, they are like the communities in Northern Ireland; the difference is mostly that in NI there is the intimidation factor which is lacking in Sri Lanka. I think it boils down to the boys letting off steam after the strains of studying for examinations and the excitement of a public performance. I have never been in NI during the Marching Season. By the way, this is Zahira College that is a major national school that follows Islamic instructions.
